CERTIFICATE IN ARCHITECTURAL DRAUGHTING

The Certificate in Architectural Draughting programme offered by our TVET school spans over a duration of 2 years, inclusive of a 3-month on-the-job training component. Throughout this comprehensive programme, students engage with six core subjects essential for mastering architectural design and drafting skills, alongside two predetermined elective courses carefully selected to complement their core learning. This structured curriculum ensures that graduates are equipped with a well-rounded skill set necessary for success in the field. The programme emphasizes hands-on learning and practical experience, preparing students for various career opportunities in the architecture and construction industry upon completion.

The programme will provide essential subject-specific interdisciplinary skills required by architectural professionals by combining aspects of creating drawings for circuitry or mechanical designs. A draughtsman’s CADD drawings encompass technical details and specifications, including materials, dimensions, and procedures. In addition to using CADD, draftsmen also employ calculators, tables, and technical handbooks.

This programme will emphasize imagination, creativity, and, where appropriate, vocational craft skills. Commencing with the acquisition of an understanding of underlying principles and necessary skills, students will pursue a staged development program, progressing towards increasingly independent learning within the context of interior design.

The minimum requirements for those interested in enrolling in this programme are as follows:
• Minimum 16 years of age.
• Proficient in basic calculation, reading, and writing in Bahasa Malaysia and/or English.
• Genuine interest in the architectural industry.
• Physically and mentally fit, with no color blindness.
